Without tickets for the Carnaval

Barranquilla Carnaval's - Colombia - 02.2016

The third largest in the world after only a few years, the carnaval in Barranquilla is like a giant octopus taking over this sprawling northern Colombian city. People come from all over the region, country and world to share in the rhythmic vibrations, dances and music from across many Colombian cultures.
For 4 days, the parade, the central event of the celebration, is installed on the main roads, bringing every corner alive.
With it's growing success, ticket prices have also increased and parade access is not possible for a part of the population there to appreciate the sounds coming from speakers set on floats or the numerous marching bands. Yet no one is discouraged. The atmosphere, the curiosity, the vendors and the warmth are there just behind the bleachers and beyond.
